About Monica Bucci
Dr. Bucci is a physician scientist with extensive research on how our brain and body respond to stress. She has served as a Senior Scientific Advisor at the Center for Youth Wellness, a
program of Safe and Sound. She has many years of expertise in research and clinical neurology and neuroradiology practice with a primary focus on neuroscience, autoimmune and degenerative diseases and brain plasticity.
Prior to joining our team, she was a Professional Research Faculty at UCSF in the
department of Neurology where she was responsible for research projects on Multiple Sclerosis. She earned her M.D. “summa cum laude” from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome, Italy, in 2001 where she also received her clinical training in Neurology and Radiology. In 2006 she attended a one-year research fellowship in the department of Neuroradiology at UCSF, followed by postdoctoral research training in the department of Neurology at UCSF in 2009 and a fellowship in Multiple Sclerosis at UCSF in 2011. Prior to UCSF, Dr. Bucci worked as a Neuroradiologist in Milan at the National Neurological Institute.Dr. Bucci obtained the Cognitive Behavioral Hypnotherapy (Hypno-CBT) Diploma with
the UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy in 2022.

She is helping create a virtual platform with a group approach for Rheum Without Walls. She offers a new approach to understanding how life's stress can activate the brain capacity to catalyse unprecendented change, using the science of stress using the science of stress-related growth and result-proven cognitive behavioral interventions.
After years dedicated to studying how adversities affect health as a result of exposure to toxic stress and chronic inflammation, Dr. Bucci decided to turn her attention back to autoimmune disorders in the community and digital setting.
